What ever I told you so far about being a pain in the neck and time consuming compaired to paint and body work the rest of it was fun. I do not have the feel to tell when something is stright so my wife would go around the car and mark high and low spots with chulk. I have never done any paint or body work before except for real small things so a lot of it was trial and error. I just keep trying untill it was as good as I could get it. I did do a lot of reading and I do know a couple of paint and body men and they sure helped me a lot. But the people that helped me did not work on the car but told me a lot of things I was doing wrong. The Idea on the car was to do everything myself and so far I have. If I can get this paint and body work done without help then I will have lived up to my word. Iam now painting the left doors over again and have decited to two tone the car because one color makes the car look really big. Like I wasn't having enough trouble painting one color I guess some people just like pain. It is like when I fell off my motorcycle or crashed my dragster the pain seems all the same. I have done some of the body work over three or four times to get it right on the big rounding fenders. I have had to paint several parts over again because of dirt or runs. I have been painting the car a section at a time because my garage is small and I also can't get the overspray out of the building. The overspray gets all over the car before I can finish it. So I have to paint the car a section at a time . I will paint a section let it dry tape it off and then paint another section and so on untill the whole car was done. This is the hard way to paint a car but if that is what you have then thats what you do. The car is all painted and it is a long way from being perfect but it looks good and I did what I said I was going to do the whole car myself. Well not all by myself I could not have got it all done without the help and support of my wife Ruby. |

It was hard to get this car to look smooth in the front end. I spent many hours trying differant things. In the end I took almost everything off the front. |

The lower valance help a lot but I still had a lot left to do in this picture. The parking lights had to go so the headlights would not look so big. I also had to sink the headlights into the fenders. |

See what I mean by one color making it look to long it had to be two tone. |
