I got the headliner from one of the old mopar parts companys. It has to be installed before the windshield and rear window because it makes the headliner easier to install. The headliner was one of the most time consumimg jobs on the car. I had never done one before but I did not want any wrinkles and wanted it to be straight. After about 11 hours the headliner and windlace and center posts were done. It was straight and had no wrinkles time well spent.WINDOWS it just takes a little common sense and a tube of sealer. Make sure you use the sealer made for this job. I made a mistake and got the two piece windshield rubber and it was real hard to seal the center post. Spend the little extra money and get the one piece seal its worth the price. The front and rear vent windows are quite easy to install but hardly ever fits right. So be sure to use sealer so you dont have any leaks. I found it better to let the sealer dry and trim off the extra with a sharp blade. Wiping it while it wet is a big mess. The door windows are a little harder. Clean all the regulators and all the window channels and paint with anti rust paint. I had a regulator that I had to weld and grind new teeth on it.Four years it still working and saved me 110 dollars. I put all new windows in my hot rod . They make a rubber strip you soak in kerosene and then put it in the window channel and push the glass in. Make sure the glass is in the right spot. I do this by putting the window together and putting tape on the glass at the end of the channel. Let the kerosene dry before you pull on the glass. Dont forget to install the felt and run channel before you install the glass. Now that the easy part is done go ahead and align the windows to go up and down and fit right. PS I hate wind noise and water leaks.Water leaks can kill all your work and if you have AC and have the windows up you can hear all the wind noise. I spent a bit of time driving and checking the car for noise and leaks and had to add a few pieces of rubber and felt to stop them all.I dont think they fit right when they were new ! |

It took me a long time to get the headliner in and have it straight and no wrinkles. |

But as you can see the 8 hours it took to put the headliner in was worth it. Now for the next big job to cover the seats and have no wrinkles. |
