This is one of the first cars that I ever rebuilt from the ground up. It was 1965 and I got this car for $50. I rebuilt it myself and it turned out not to bad. It had a 312 engine with 6 -2 barrell carburetors and a four-speed. I did both the outside and the inside of the car. |

In the '50s and '60s you could not have your car lower than a pack of King's size cigarettes. This Cadillac is really low but we did not have any air bags back then to make them this low. |

In the late '50s and early '60s we were into cars real big. If you read my racing stories you would have found that we did some pretty wild things back then. To day a lot of them you could not get by with doing But at that time it seemed all right. There is a lot of difference between now and then. It cost so much money to build a race car now so I guess I would just build myself up a custom car or a hot rod for as little as I could and just have my fun that way. No matter what they say the '50s and early '60s were really fun and there will never be days like that again. |
